Access Update 5/15/19
Green Mountain Power has been working hard to fix and improve the the access areas at the Waterbury Dam Launch, Blush Hill and Moscow Paddlers Access (Cottonbrook)
They got an extension for completing Cottonbrook because they needed a couple more permits. All three areas are due to be finished by 12/31/2019, but Green Mountain Power hopes to have them finished by fall of 2019.

The water is 2-3 feet high at Cottonbrook access; it is very muddy and the access road is rough. Water temperature is 42 degrees.

Waterbury Center Day Use Area Clean Up
Sunday, May 19th, 2019 11:00 am - 3:00 pm Friends of Waterbury Reservoir are holding a clean up event at the Waterbury Center Day Use Area. The event will be rain or shine, but canceled in the event of a thunderstorm. The nature trail along the shore is strewn with debris from the high water this spring. Bring gloves, insect repellent, and drinking water and join in making the trail beautiful and useable. We have some rakes, shovels, and nippers, but bring your favorite tools

Public Access Greeter Program
Summer 2019 will be the fourth year for a Public Access Greeter Program at Waterbury Reservoir! Common Loon Recovery Project
Help Friends of Waterbury Reservoir volunteer to help monitor the loon activity on Waterbury Reservoir to verify whether there are nesting pairs. Since 1978, the Vermont Loon Recovery Project at the Vermont Center for EcoStudies has been working with citizens, lakeshore owners, hydro dam operators, lake associations, state agencies, and other conservation groups to secure the future of Vermont loons.
